So here's the deal. We're talking about a modern day, giant creature attacking a big city scenario, and obviously, that formula just doesnt work, unless you're one of those rediculous godzilla nuts "king kong is way better, duh!!!." We're also talking about a movie filmed in the first person handycam fashion. So, to recap, we're taking elements from godzilla, and the blair witch project and mixing them together. Jesus christ, I have no Idea what these people were thinking when they thought they could pull this rediculous idea off!!!!
but somehow, they did...
Cloverfield was a masterpiece, absolutley wonderfull, I didn't leave the edge of my seat for a moment. This film is just overwhelmingly intense. I'ts rare that a modern day film can sway the opinions of old, but there is not a single king kong or godzilla movie that can stand up to cloverfield. Im sure its already been said by like, a bunch of people, but take it from Alex, this movie is fantastic! And those of you who know me, know that its rare I give a completley positive review.

A part of all art is to make silence speak. The things left out in painting, the note withheld in music, the void in architecture -- all are as necessary and as active as the utterance itself. -Freya Stark
